Realtors taking over Facebook?

Social networking is all the rage right now, and of course, most Realtors see the value of having a very broad network. I have a Facebook page, I am also active on Twitter, City-Data Forums, message boards, SmallerIndiana, and LinkedIn. What can I say? I’ve always been a very social person! I even have a MySpace page!

I am bringing this up because I just read an article on Newsweek about Facebook and how real estate agents use it to their advantage. Some agents will casually mention once in a while that they have a new listing or sale, others can go overboard. I think those that annoy others with a constant barrage of marketing messages are completely missing the mark and give the rest of us a bad name. Using a social tool as an occasional marketing tool is a good idea, I think, but I try to stay on the side of social, because that is what it is for. When something great happens in my career, I mention it to my friends, but I try not to be all real estate, all the time.

I would love to have you connect with me on whatever social platform you prefer!
